Farmhouse Nettle Cheese – Made with Milk from Our Own Buffalo Herd
Handcrafted in Northumberland by the renowned Northumberland Cheese Company, Nettle Cheese is a true farmhouse delight, made exclusively from the rich, creamy milk of our very own buffalo herd at Buffalo Farm. This customer favourite combines a traditional Northumberland recipe with a unique twist: the addition of real nettles.
While nettles were once used to coagulate milk, here they’re added for a gentle, herbaceous flavour that enhances the cheese’s smooth, creamy texture without overwhelming its natural subtlety. Aged for three months, this cheese has a well-rounded maturity, delivering a Gouda-style richness with a beautifully balanced, mild taste. The green flecks of nettle make it a striking centrepiece on any cheese board.
For a vegetarian treat, try it melted with courgettes on a pizza!
