We are looking for a new member of staff to join the team at The Buffalo Farm. Working at both our Blacketyside butchers counter and Kennoway butchers shop you will be responsible for advising and serving customers and keeping the counter stocked, organised and clean.
You will undertake a modern apprenticeship in butchery learning from our team of experienced butchers under the guidance of Scottish Meat Training. This will cover food safety & hygiene, customer service, preparing of orders, manufacturing of burgers & sausages etc., butchery knife skills. In addition you will be trained up to take on the main role for curing; helping produce and develop new ranges of cured meats.
We use traditional farming and butchery methods and are a growing local business with a great team of hardworking people already in place. We hope that this role will develop into a long term, key position within our butchery team.
Position is full time, 5 days a week, generally over Monday to Saturday.
• Previous catering or retail experience an advantage
• An interest in food and cooking essential
